Whilst we're at it, have a WIP image of me working on the death stuff - Just an FYI, the "Dead:" Labels are going.
I assume theres a way to reverse permadeath, somthing only you can do, via somone subbmiting a reason why you should break out your Necronamacon
I don't understand why you would perma kill a character so they can't use it and force them to keep the perma dead slot full.
could be like a ban, 3 permas and its a perma ban? Im not sure now that you mention it, it does seem a bit odd
Perm death won't be used unless it's for exceptional circumstances. It serves multiple purposes, varying from warnings to simply ensuring something stays dead. If a character is deleted, that name becomes available. If it's perm-killed, everything still stays, but it cannot be played, so on and so forth.
no, we have to go find the lost +1 Mace from the tomb of Gary Gygax so that we can defeat the ogre guarding the necronomicon, but we must sacrifice one of our party in the process to obtain the real book out of the 3. Then we must bring the mace and the necronomicon to Castle Gummy to have the great wizard Teddi bring the corpse of the fallen party member back to life and the body of the permadeathed person shall then be turned into dust, and snorted by all those involved to gain his strength.
You forgot the part about running around like idiots to find the 20 maple seeds that are also required for the process.
Unless your up for alot of bitching, whinging and "ITS NOT FAIR IT WAS A RDM." then I think that would be best avoided unless you create a serious RP server.
It kinda went like a plane taking off from the runway, only to have a birdstrike occur and have the thing hit the ground faster than shaquille o'neal's acting career.
Is there anything like private assassins for hire, and if so, how would they work and what is the plan for preventing abuse? Also, an API-styled list for commands would be nice, and possibly auto-complete on commands (maybe a feature for selecting what commands you always wanted at the top of this auto-complete list). E.g. The command I want to type is commence (obviously not a real command, just an example because it works). This command is set in the auto-complete list after earn, say, and company, but before pay, listen, and compute. The favorite commands list is as follows: [earn, say, company, commence, pay, listen, compute] When the "c" key is struck, all but company, commence, and compute are filtered out, and you are left with those three commands (in that order) and any other starting with "c". It's rather easy to program, and it makes commands easier to access, IMO.
RP it. Ideally there wont be many, if any chat commands at all. As for an API with certain commands, possibly. I don't quite get what you're wanting here.
