The German Way of Things Part 2 Or Should I Say Guten Tag By: Gaines H. ____________ Continued from Part 1 ____________ "We will be leaving soon" "Roughly 15 minutes" "Stand by please" Well, fifteen minutes turned into thirty minutes. Soon enough the plane began to move toward the run way. "I've never flown before" Said this very quiet and concerning voice. "I've flown four times, this will be my fifth." I said in response. When I turned to the voice. It was the women next to me. She looked as if the chair sucked her in and would not be letting her free anytime soon. "That's nice. How long is this flight?" She said "I have no clue, sorry." "I hate flying, I've never flown but I hate it. After 9/11 and seeing those towers. I've been scared out of my mind" Her voice rang in my ears as she made me remember that day. I looked around, and began to be a prejudice asshole. I stared at this Islamic man. My mind began to wonder as I could see him being searched. Not once, but tens or twenties of times. "This is your Pilot speaking, we are heading toward Germany right now." I looked to my left and out the window. I hadn't even notice us taking off. "I did it!" I heard out of the corner of my ear. This time it was coming from behind us. A couple of rows back a young girl, maybe 16, was sitting there. She looked as if she was about to cry. I tried to sleep, failed. I decided to listen to my Ipod. Well, that started out okay untill I noticed the women standing in the aisle over me. She looked nice. "Turn your shit down" Not so nice after all. I quickly listened to her voice as it sounded like my German teacher's demanding voice. Well. I slept the rest of the way, amazingly. Then with 10 minutes untill Landing, I got to know my 22 year old women sitting in the chair next to me. "Good morning sleepy head" She said. It reminded me of my Mother's voice, creepy. "Morning.." I said in reply. "You actually slept. And might I say you're a quiet and heavy sleeper." "Yeah-" "Well, we are on the way there so get your things ready-" "Okay" My voice cracked like no other time before. I immediatly rose up into an upright position. I was embarrasted beyond immaginable. "Hah, Puberty. Those weren't the days. Thank god I'm done with that. Being twenty two, quite easy" She quickly said to ease my suffer. All she did was make me feel worse. "And you're...." She was already turning into that teacher mode. Waiting for me to fill in the blank. "15" "That's nice." "Hello People, this is your pilot speaking once again. We have now arrived in Germany" It took around 45 minutes for us to finally be off the plane. After that I huddled with my group of ten students and 20 family(Mother and Father) members. "Good day" said this women who was standing infront of us all. "Or should I say Guten Tag!"
Machten Sie das so Ihre Geschichte reist ab und Sie dont müssen für Ihre Handlungen bestraft werden? MACHEN SIE auch DIESEN FADEN DEN GANZEN DEUTSCHEN!
Scoutking, I am not lieing. Speak in English, I think I've heard too much German these past few weeks.
Also, I am not making this thread all in German, I didn't write my notes from the trip in German. You'll see when I get to the German section of the trip. And Zeke, I did not use a translator. scoutking just spoke proper German, you didn't...
Actually scoutking is wrong, but don't ask me. My experience with German is obviously limited having been to state finals for German and winning three trophies (one of which my teacher took and put on display in school). Also three years of German makes me very influent in the language.
Lol. German Soldiers ask a French Spy, "Du sprechen Deutche?" (Or whatever, I suck at languages XD) French Spy answers, "Qui!"
Speaking German is impressive.... BUT CAN YOU SPEAK SPANISH!!??! Yo quiero la torta en la parque, rapido!
Lol'd at Biff. Teddi that is something I didn't see well, coming from you. You seemed to be the person who would know Spanish and English. Zeke, scoutking had the correct verb and placement used. German can easily be related to spanish. Identicle Verb conj.. -Chuck Wie Gehts? Biff, I have a Question for yourself Kinder Wie Viele?
I know spanish too i live in texas and spanish is almost common as english WE GONNA COOK US SOME BEEF TONIGHTZ!
The EXACT translation of this is quite hilarious Does powers you that so your story depart and you served must for your actions punished become? MAKE also THIS THREAD THE ENTIRE GERMAN!
The reason it is like that is because you can't translate it word for word. The verbs, and sentence structures are quite different with some/most phrases... I'm on my 2nd year of German in highschool
