    http://www.mumble.com

    New BB Server!!!
    Download:

Mumble is tons better than Vent and Teamspeak.

    1) 100% Free - can run it on any OS, any server platform, etc. Code is 100% open source. (Will no longer need to rent from a vent/ts server provider, saving tons of cash as well, though there are many professional providers that host mumble servers i.e. nfoservers... due to the fact that mumble is free, the cost of running it is a lot less than ventrilo as well)
    2) Unlimited slots. You could host the entire world's talking if you had a good enough connection and server.
    3) Tons of better quality codecs that give tons better voice quality while still keeping bandwidth used very low.
    4) Did I mention it's free?
    5) HUGE game support, tons better than Vent.
    6) Positional audio - the voice of your teammates comes from their direction in game.
    7) Game overlay - see who is currently talking while still ingame - don't need to alt-tab out to see who is speaking.
    8) It sounds awesome, and there is almost no voice delay (unlike Ventrilo or TS)
    9) Tons more... try it out yourself. Seriously tons better than TS/Vent.
    10) Easy to use

Please give this idea a try. I don't know how much Ventrilo costs (if Teddi even pays for a server) but I can bet using Mumble would save quite a bit of money and would run so much better than Ventrilo.

I looked into using this when it first came out, but it was pretty shitty. I'll look into it and see if it's any better.

Yep, we now have a mumble server running, and I'll be replacing Ventrilo with Mumble.

So Zeke... You're not really being too clear. How does Mumble compare to something like Ventrillo or Teamspeak?

Ventrilos UI is pure shit (as is its functionality) and TS3 is just so outdated it's terrible. Sure Mumble could be improved friendliness-wise, but otherwise it's far suprerior.

I could agree with the vent, but TS3 being outdated doesn't mean it's bad. Do I really care about voice quality that much? No. But from the experiences I've had with all 3, mumble is too clean that it somehow sounds worse, and vent everyone sounds like XBL. I've used TS3 for 2 years, and I can say that I haven't had issues with peoples voice quality. And also Mumble didn't change at all, still as shitty as ever.

It has changed quite a bit, the quality is pretty good for me, unless you're doing something wrong

Pot and I had a Terraria day

(smiley faces are broken it seams)

Also Bundt I've used teamspeak since it came out and it's lost its touch a long time ago.
