Well it seems that me and a few other cool people have quit Aion and are now into WoW. This is the WoW thread. Flame resistance is on so you shouldn't try to flame or YOU WILL DO NO DAMAGE
I kinda got bored with AION after the abyss turned out to be kind of fail. I then tried WoW, and WOW that sucked. Then I played MW2
i've played WoW on and off ever since it came out, it's good but can only play it for a few months at a time
I FREAKIN LOVE WoW Oh, I thought you meant War of the Worlds... Still a good movie... World of Warcraft is not... All done...
It's a mix. Aion is still pretty fun, however it doesnt feel too smooth. Saying that, I haven't played it at all lately.
Aion got boring cause it was the same repeated quests over and over. OH HAI LOL GO COLLECT THUS MANY SHUBBERYS AND ALSO KILL THIS MANY RAPTOR THINGS. Wow still does that but once you get into Northrend there is a major difference in the kind of quests.
WoW is the exact same thing it was three years ago. You just trick yourself into believing otherwise. Aions primary problem is that it was originally geared to a korean audience, and while they've come leaps and bounds since the modifications for the western audience, they haven't come far enough in terms of modifying the end game etc. I found the quests to be generally nicer (Less Grinding, easier to progress etc) however they hadn't got everything out. It's a case of Age of Conan syndrome. What had the potential to be a pretty good game and MMO, was in the end ruined because they hadn't allowed for enough time for design.
Yes, and they had a great concept too. It is the first game I have ever seen that allows you actual flight but is geared as a role-playing game (not included no-clip), but it got pretty much ruined just because they pushed at the release date a little hard. Now if only Valve had the same problem...
I played Fallen Earth for a while during beta, lots of bugs but to be expected, it was really fun, even if I had to play it on a shitty laptop, its good if you like to craft and grind shit. I played WoW its good in spurts of like a week or so, but I wouldn't pay for it. Eve Online is what I play/actually pay for because I enjoy the super-laid backness.
Teddi speaks the truth. WoW is the same as it was 3 years ago, but thats the point, i like it. I don't want it to change. AoC syndrome is half the mmos out there (warhammer, lotro, gw1, and will be swtor). WoW is a hit, it will be a long time coming, well maybe in a year, because gw2 is promising, but you never know with a new mmo anymore.
oh yeah and just throwing this out there, age of conan is free for life (level 1-20) until january 1, if anyone wants to try it. i might, but i dunno
