At the moment to test a few things we have a public server in the beta online with the lobby running. For testing purposes the only working area available at this time is the Deathmatch area which you will either spawn into or you can access via the lift on the right of the theatre. You're also free to explore the cinemas, theatre (and backstage) area as well as stare at the server entrances which you cannot access. I'm aware that there are a few lua errors here and there and they're either corrected already or they're in the process of being replaced. The upstairs area is currently off limits and thus the elevator for that does not work (if you spawn up there, just suicide). As for the actual downloading, you can either sit and wait for the map to download (there is no progress bar in GM13, so you'll just have to sit until it's done without knowing when) or you can download a copy from http://speedy.bbroleplay.co.uk:85/maps/bb_lobby_new_a15.bsp.bz2 (I wouldn't advise trying to play that in singleplayer). I'm currently aware that there's no weapons bar the pistol at the moment and the props, but I want to see if people find this enjoyable and if they find any major bugs. The server is currently hosted on the texas box (because I had accidently locked myself out at time of writing of the Montreal box). A couple people have got into the beta. The only criteria to get into the GMod beta is that you've played at least 50 hours in the past two weeks. To get your key (which there are none left until this friday) go to account.garrysmod.com and log in.
I don't even think you have to sit on a server, I think you just have to have it running (counting towards play time).

Should have said, the map only has HDR because it's only a Dev Build, so if you play in LDR, it will be fullbright (And Fullbright makes baby panda's scream)
I turned HDR and Bloom off because it seemed overdone for some reason, it was like using a shitty plugin for photoshop that just blurs the edges of anything with light. I was more interested in the structure and actual mapping anyway, which is quite fantastic. Although I was disappointed as I couldn't see my reflection in the shiny floor where the desk is heh
