Whilst chatting tonight, Kaiden brought up a valid point that as a community, these days we seem to do less and less as an actual community. It's a valid and saddening point considering many of you still seem to enjoy playing various GMod gamemodes as a whole or with specific groups which is why I'm proposing the following:- We have three valid servers for playing gamemodes on, these are: Deathrun Trouble in Twelve Year old Town BBuild I understand many of you may have had enough of Deathrun, however it is possible for me to just shove a map pack on there and we have new maps. That combined some interesting topics could make for some interesting topics. Obviously as I said this isn't to everyones tastes, but if anyone else has any further ideas, feel free to pitch them. Trouble in Twelve Year old Town can be extremely entertaining with more liberal rules and possibly a few custom weapons. I've always had fun with this gamemode, especially in groups. We would need a few better maps, but those aren't hard to find. BBuild can have events and we can have some sort of robot fight, or build some rather interesting aesthetic stuff. I left Surf out as it's a bit more specialist. Until the Garrysmod update is released, we cannot release the new gamemode we have planned (which is actually pretty fun) and it's creating a stale enviroment. Why not, once, maybe twice a week have a play together on one of these servers that we still have. We've had fun such as "girls night" (Bundtina anyone?) and other things which kept it alive. I know many of you are waiting for things such as RP but they're not being released anytime soon admittedly. I've put a poll up so you can vote roughly if you're interested and what days you would prefer. Of course if you have any suggestions, feel free to add them below.
In terms of my schedule, this is best done on a weekend in the evening; as my weekdays are school from 11am-7:30pm EST. :3
TTT would probably make the most sense and keep everybody longer than a build or dr event as it has the most action involved.
I like this idea. I have been trying to get to know the [BB] community more, so yes, I would be interested in this because I really enjoy the BB servers and the [BB] community. I would like it if it was on Friday or something, or atleast on the weekend so we can chill at night after a long week.
I would love to see this happen. However, you'll need to make the time reasonable for Americans like myself as well as you guys over in the U.K.. Also, I think playing on the weekends would be ideal, just make sure to announce the event through the forums and the Steam group. People usually have no/only a few commitments on the weekends. Edit: Also, TTT would be the best gamemode by far.
I'd love a TTT gamemode, I don't know about an exact day but Tuesdays and Wednesdays are mostly my off days, but later on saturdays MAY work.
It appears that the weekend so far is idea, the poll is open for a week in total so any late-comers still have a chance to vote.
It varies, the latter half of the week I often work evenings, so generally can't turn up then. But the events, as they always have, should still happen then really if that's when the majority can make it. All 3 servers are fun with plenty of people on, build slightly less so as the server tends to collapse under 15 people heavy building. I'm waiting on the gamemode personally which I think has the potential to equal that of DR in terms of activity it brought to the community.
Weekends at night or weekdays at night (GMT -5) would be best for me, but that might be too late for you guys in Europe. Also, TTT is wonderful, me and my friends play quite a bit of it.
It seems TTT on a weekend evening will be the ideal time. Should I aim to schedule it for this weekend or the next?
I have an all day commitment on Saturday from 5:45AM to 6:00PM (central U.S. time), but any other day/time this weekend or any other weekend I'm free.
Next weekend I guess. In the process of moving so I should be really busy this Saturday (prolly next weekend too but unknown atm).
